Big Stories Small Towns Beaudesert: participatory media production and the construction of audience
Elske van de Fliert & Samantha Ryan | UQ
Big Stories Small Towns Beaudesert was a collaboration between the Centre for Communication for Social Change and the multiplatform documentary project Big Stories Small Towns. Centre Project Officer Samantha Ryan worked as Producer with filmmaker in residence Peter Hegedus and Big Stories Creative Producer and Centre Postdoctoral Research Fellow Martin Potter. CSC Masters students enrolled in the new Participatory Media Production course were involved in the project in semester two, creating work with the local community. The resulting films, digital stories and images were screened and exhibited to the community of Beaudesert on conclusion of the project as well as the website www.bigstories.com.au.
