The Valerie Joy Prize in Film and Television Studies was established in 2014 and maintained by the income of an endowment gift from Ms Valerie Joy who graduated from UQ in 1963 with a Bachelor of Social Studies. Ms Joy has a strong passion for film and through this gift she wishes to foster the development of tomorrow’s film talents.
Olivia Ustariz was the successful recipient of the 2018 Valerie Joy Prize in Film and Television Studies Prizw by achieving an average GPA of 6.7 across courses studied for the Film and Television major, higher than any other student.
In particular, Ustariz received a grade of 7 for ARTT1106, MSTU1001, MSTU200S, MSTU2008, MSTU2160, MSTU3005, MSTU3012; a grade of 6 for WRIT2120; and a grade of 5 for MSTU2006.
