As journalism navigates a new technological landscape there is a need for new methods of research and practice. This presentation describes the development of the NewsCube, an innovative tool for telling complex stories. It outlines the design process used to create the NewsCube and also explains how design methods have been introduced to third-year journalism students.
*Please note: Dr Campbell Gray, Director of the UQ Art Museum, has invited seminar attendees to move onto the opening of the Peter Hennessey exhibition. We can look forward to wonderful art (and refreshments).
Skye Doherty lectures in digital journalism and production in the School of Communication and Arts. Her research straddles design and journalism practice, and aims to show how one can help the other innovate.
