UQ Journalism Boot Camp (In-Person)
For: Journalism and Communications students who have commenced study in Semester 1 2021 or will be commencing study in Semester 2 2021.
As a new student, it can be hard to find your place in your degree and in the university community. With this boot camp, you’ll be able to put those anxieties to rest, as we help to familiarise you with the degree and your fellow journalists-to-be and communications-professionals-in-training. You’ll be given details on UQ’s MaPS free workshops to increase your skills and employability, and receive valuable tips from second and third year students who’ve been in your situation. You’ll also be given further information about networking events through UQ Journalism and Communication Society (UQ JACS) and will hear about internships, exchanges, and other exciting opportunities. In addition, you’ll get to be present for an industry panel with experts in the profession. A complimentary lunch will be provided.
Registrations essential.
