Associate Professor Frances Bonner's research interests include film and television studies; magazines; celebrities; science fiction; women's studies

Associate Professor Bonner holds an MA (Tas) and a PhD (Open) and is a reader in the EMSAH School.

She is the author of:

  • Personality Presenters: Television's intermediaries with viewers, Ashgate, 2011.
  • Ordinary Television, Sage, 2003.
  • Fame Games: the Production of Celebrity in Australia, Cambridge UP, 2000 (with Graeme Turner and David Marshall).
  • Articles on television, magazines, science fiction, and film.

Associate Professor Bonner's current research includes popular non-fiction television programs and their presenters; magazines, especially magazines and health; and celebrity.
