Vanguard Theatre Festival 2026

We Think. We Move. We Feel. We Connect. We Hurt. We Love. We Live. It’s All That We Are.

The 2026 Vanguard Theatre Festival celebrates the human experience, exploring the stories, emotions and connections that define who we are.

Join us for three evenings of exciting and diverse student theatre, featuring emerging directors, new writing, adaptations and devised performances.

Brought to life by UQ Drama students, Vanguard is a celebration of creativity, collaboration and emerging theatrical talent. Third-year students take the lead as directors and Festival Directors, overseeing everything from programming and production to marketing and publicity, while first-year students bring the performances to life onstage and work behind the scenes as technical crew.

Performance dates:

Thursday 29 October 2026 | 7.30–9.30 pm

Friday 30 October 2026 | 7.30–9.30 pm
