With great success we held the Second 'Master of Communication Get-Together' - A cohort building celebration of, for, and with our Master’s students.
Students played a popular bingo game created by our wonderful student representative, Monica Clayton. The event also had a flower crafting station through some of our students are participating in the Hidden Disabilities Sunflower competition organised by Dr. Kylie Navuku, who has created a beautiful installation to which the flowers will be added, at Level 8, Michie Building. Students joined this activity with great enthusiasm.
There was lunch: Delicious pizzas, drinks, cookies, chokies and fun galore, at a very nice venue facilitated by HASS Student Futures’s Joy Yang Zhang and her team.
Our own School influencer, tutors and soon PhD graduate, Kevin Sanly Putera shot videos and photos, which are fantastic storytelling winning pieces in themselves.
Thank you to all our academics who attended, especially our MC, Tony Biancotti; to my successor as convenor of the MCommun in 2027, Elija Cassidy; to our academics, Lemi Baruh, Leah Henrickson, Patricia Alves, Alex Beare, Regan Neal, and MaPS’s Paul Smith; our tutors Thu Luong LE, Franssisca Xaveria, and Kevin; and, of course, big thanks to our wonderful students, who played, mingled with their teachers, ate pizzas, had chokies, took a lot of pictures and selfies with their teachers and peers.
The Master of Communication Get-Together celebrations will continue next year under the baton of Elija Cassidy. Long Live our re-energised Master of Communication!
