About

Welcome to the School of Communication and Arts

We bring together a wealth of expertise and creativity across all facets of communication, journalism, writing, literature, art history and the arts at The University of Queensland.

Despite the diversity of our disciplinary mix, the two parts of our name points to a unity: the acknowledgement that creative expression has to communicate and that every act of communication is expressive in some way.

The School offers a collegial and supportive environment for study with a strong focus on equipping our students with deep knowledge, skills and leadership that will enrich and enable fulfilling lives.

If you study with us, you can rest assured that you will have access to all the technologies and activities that enhance learning and develop applied skills.

For coursework postgraduate and research higher degree students, we will be looking to realise new synergies among our programs that help your journey and results.

We anticipate that there will be advantages to industry partners in terms of easier access to communication expertise across a wider range of areas, including journalism, professional writing, public relations, creative writing, and media studies.

I encourage you to browse our website and learn more about what we do.
