The team at Jacaranda Journal are proud to announce a new collaboration with University Queensland Press (UQP) which includes publishing & editorial mentorships, judging the shortlist of the newly announced Jacaranda Writing Prize, and providing a one-on-one consultation for the winner.
Published since 2013, UQ’s creative journal, Jacaranda, is now a bi-annual publication known for its commitment to empowering emerging writers and showcasing the best new Australian poetry, short fiction, creative non-fiction, artwork, and photography. Jacaranda is made up of a supportive and ambitious community of emerging student editors, production & design managers, and marketing/salespeople. Jacaranda Journal’s contributors have included Rae White, Liam Ferney, Felicity Plunkett, Anna Jacobson, Matthew Hooton, Kate Moody, Sharlene Allsop, Damen O’Brien, Gavin Yuan Gao, Jill Jones, Les Wicks, Christine Burrows, and many other brilliant writers and poets, both established and emerging. This year we’ll be including a cover art prize, judged by a panel of renowned UQ artists and experts.
