The competition guidelines set out two categories. You may enter both categories, but if you do, you must have a different story topic for each category, and you are only eligible to win a prize in one category (sorry!).

1. Read the competition guidelines
    
2.  View the tips videos and choose which category you would like to enter.
    
3. Get producing/writing and publish your work on a digital platform such as YouTube or Vimeo (for the video documentary) or Adobe Spark, Wix or Shorthand (for the photo series and news story).
    
4. Complete the online entry form including -
   1. full name
   2. email address
   3. telephone number
   4. current high school attending
   5. year level
   6. the link to your entry submission 

4. Submit the form – you will receive a confirmation email confirming your submission has been received.

5. Wait it out, prize winners and runners-up will be announced via email on or by 09/07/2021

All valid entries will be judged individually on their merits. Entries will be judged according to their ability to tell their story in the most compelling and interesting way as deemed by the judging panel.

Judges will be looking for entries that are the most interesting, informative and thought provoking. Entries should use excellent storytelling techniques, be visually appealing and/or well written, and hold and capture the judges’ attention.

Judging will take place between 21/06/21 and 2/07/21 at The University of Queensland, St Lucia. Entries will be judged by a panel of judges from UQ. The judges will review and judge every valid entry received.
