Honours - How to apply

Please note that mid-year entry is NOT available and applications will only be considered for Semester One entry.

For Semester One, 2026 entry; the following dates apply:

  • Honours Information Session: Friday, 10th October 2025 - 10am - 11am Brisbane Time - 09-612 (Writers Studio, Lvl 6 Michie Building). 
  • Expressions of Interest due: Friday, 28th November 2025
  • Applications due (dates to be confirmed for 2026): 
    • Domestic Students - January 31 of the year of commencement (2026)
    • International Students - November 30 of the previous year (2025)

Important Information

  • Please note that applications will not be processed until all documents are received (this applies to domestic and international students). We will contact you if any documentation is outstanding. Please refer to Section 5 (below) for required documents.
  1. Attend the information session
  2. Check you meet the Honours Entry Requirements
  3. Approach a prospective supervisor
  1. Develop a thesis proposal
  2. Submit your application

4. Develop a thesis proposal

With your prospective supervisor, develop a thesis proposal (that will be included in the online Expression of Interest form). The proposal should:

  • be between 250-500 words
  • outline the research topic and key research questions
  • have a proposed title
  • indicate the proposed approach and method
  • can include a list of references.
