Jacaranda Journal has officially opened submissions for its upcoming edition, inviting writers and artists to submit original work in response to the new theme: Memento Mori. The deadline for all submissions is August 29. The launch event will be in November.
The Jacaranda Writing Prize is open to all written submissions. We welcome short stories, creative non-fiction, and poetry. The first-place winner will receive a 1-on-1 mentorship session with acclaimed publisher UQP, $100, and a UQP gift bag. Two runners-up will each receive $50 and a UQP gift bag.
In addition, visual artists are invited to enter the Jacaranda Cover Prize, where the winning artwork will be featured on the front cover of Memento Mori, with full industry-standard credit. The winner will also receive an exclusive interview and a special feature on JJ Online.
